请看以上帖子。我刚刚看了下Kansas，总体而言显然不如Buffalo，Kansas不在 Arizona State University Global Top 100 Ranking 之内，这是很好的例证，Kansas在 Top Finance Journals 发的 Paper寥寥无几，而Buffalo非常多，基本可以说是小而精, 而且几个年轻老师都很 Productive。Kansas看不出更年轻，刚进了几个刚毕业的PhD，多达5名之多，这些人显然无法帮助你，可以忽略。

感觉楼里关于港新学校的讨论比较少，主要集中在HKUST和NUS，想请教一下LZ对于港新其他学校,例如香港CityU，HKU，PolyU，新加坡NTU,SMU等的看法！

If you can join the HKUST or NUS program, each comparable to a top 30 program in North America, largely there will be no geographical limits to your job search. We will later get to the other programs mentioned here.

HKU 的話，今年 TC Lin 的一個學生 (歐洲人) place 到 University of St. Gallen，沒記錯的話有一篇 single-authored 的 JF R&R，做的研究也非常有趣。HKU跟 HKUST, NUS 培養學生的能力差不多好。

See a posting above for the comparison between University of Rochester and University of Florida. UBC ranks among the top 3 in Canada in research and most probably in graduate placements.

感谢楼主的收集总结以及这么长时间以来不停的回答大家的问题！真是收益匪浅！
我想问问楼主关于录取后选校的意见，我今年要去fin phd的项目，目前有offer或者有希望的wl的学校有UT Dallas, Texas A&M, Indiana University Bloomington, Utah, 和UIUC。主要是前两个学校，有offer或希望较大，后面的三个感觉可以等等。从您的placement看UTD的fin似乎不如TAMU，不过增长这么快，最近是不是差不多了？还有就是UTD的学术越来越厉害，感觉超过TAMU了，所以有点纠结怎么从这两个里面选以及这五个学校大致怎么排。期待您的宝贵意见！

楼主你好，请问 UTD 和UConn的strategy方向 phd怎么比较呢？同在TIER 3。
据我了解的 UTD 系大，每年招的人多。UConn每年只招两个， 而且比较偏OB。
如果就placement而言，两者孰优孰劣呢？

Thank you very much for your trust and encouragement.

We would suggest that you give TAMU more serious consideration. UTD is a rapidly rising star, but TAMU is a more established and better-known brand, and so placements prospects are more assured. With respect to research in finance, both rank quite well and meet your needs.

UB and UIUC are very similar to TAMU.

We are not familiar with this area of concentration, but UTD, with its rapid ascendance, would be a better choice. UCONN seems to have been going downhill in recent years.

可以请教一下，UC RIVERSIDE这种没有什么数据的新项目，可以从什么角度去考量？
如果没有数据是不是能直接默认基本没有去到好学校的例子直接划分到TIER5以后了？
