OG17上的一道CR题，答案里有 the popularity of a certain strategy，可我没觉得题干里有啊

A product that represents a clear technological advance over competing products can generally command a high price. Because technological advances tend to be quickly surpassed and companies want to make large profits while they still can, many companies charge the maximum possible price for such a product. But large profits on the new product will give competitors a strong incentive to quickly match the new product’s capabilities. 这题书上的答案是C。可我没觉得题干里有解释到 the popularity of a certain strategy啊。所以就算是我当时第一眼看了C觉得顺眼之后，仔细一看就又没选C，最后选了E，结果跟书上的答案不对。
当然是E也有不对的地方，后半个the second presents the intended outcome of that strategy按着书上的解释说，这是不对的， 因为the second boldface portion does not describe the intended outcome of the strategy, but rather the means of bringing about that intended outcome。所以我现在知道E不对，可是我也没法接受C，因为我觉得C的前半句话不对。

谁可以帮我解释一下吗？是我的理解有问题吗？

我觉得这道题其实不用扣那么细，选项不是必须按照某一个点必须对，才选出来的，而是排除出来的，也就是哪个相比与其它出错更少，更接近合理的逻辑，那就是对的选项。

排选项的话：

A argue，counterproductive 看到这两个词就知道这句话肯定不对。黑体字部分没有反向opposite的意思，排除。
B support strategy that argument recommend，这句话里的strategy不是重点，重点是argument recommend的strategy。所以要找argument recommend，一找发现出现在最后，并且在这之前和黑体字之后出现转折，所以 support这个词不对，排除。
C explain a certain strategy， 后面又说 second presents that strategy。根据题因为所以的句子结构，确实，这个可以说得通，留着。
D assumption, rejected， justify，这几个词出现就不太对，可以排除
E justify a certain strategy，intended outcome of that strategy。你说的 哪个strategy？怎么就justify了？然后还intended outcome of that strategy？非要说outcome的话，第二个也不能算是intended 的 outcome把，排除。

所以，答案 C

其实各位，我不是不会选答案。因为最后答案的备选项里看下来，只那个C最接近了。

我现在是对这个“正确答案”所表述的内涵在题干中哪儿可以找到有问题，进而确认一下是不是我对文字的的理解有问题－－我没有在题干里有看到哪儿体现了 the popularity of a certain strategy啊，重点是黑体字的 the popularity of 部分。有哪里可以找到？

我找不到，所以就有好几道题我觉得GMAC不够严谨，尽管我知道我没有能力和资格来非议他们的出题能力，我只是考生……

哎，原来两道题虽然意思一样，但划线部分不一样。 原来我记忆力不太烂，就是不够准Emma，以后拜你为师了 （曼哈顿这道题选C）

many companies charge the maximum possible price for such a product. 中many就暗示了这个战略是一个popular 战略。

但是我还是要无情的指出GMAC出题是非常严谨的，但是解释OG的解释是非常恶心的。我以前也是觉得他们不严谨，但是学到后来才知道自己当初是多么的无知 （不是说楼主无知哈，不要介意。）

楼主popoularity 是程度的名词，lisi 这里是说的对的 many 在这里表现出了popularity 这个程度。
