请教一道概率题

The probability that Tom will win the Booker prize is  0.5, and the probability that John will win the Booker prize is 0.4. There is only one Booker prize to win. What is the probability that at least one of them wins the prize?  （这题答案是0.7）


问：
“There is only one Booker prize to win。” 这是指只能有一个人得奖么？Tom and John不能同时得这个奖？如果这样，那么“at least one of them wins the prize”， 就是指或者Tom得奖，或者John得奖，直接0.5+0.4=0.9  不就可以了么？为什么不对呢？

p=1-p（t不得奖）*p（j不得奖）
按lz的思路正向思考
p=p（t得奖）+p（j得奖）-p（tp同时得奖）

“至少有一个”的反面就是“一个也没有”，P等于1减去-一个也没有的概率，即P=1-o.5*0.6=0.7.个人解法，仅供参考。希望可以帮到你

你这个公式，只能用在独立事件上吧，然而此题应该是互斥事件

用对立事件  就好想了   绝不能简单相加

明白了，这里应该是独立事件，我把它错想成互斥事件了....

用Venn图思考，即是求A U B， 所以A+B-(A n B)= 0.4+0.5-0.4*0.5=0.7
