1a. What I can see is, some of your classmates are not professional enough in networking.
networking is just exchange of resource indeed, and thus it is reasonable that people will ignore those that cant help them.
the only important point is........don't make this too obvious, and have to think more about potential use.
weak connection is not someone who you can spend a lot of time in advance, but at least dont offense them.....
(we dont expect knowing many (or even any) true friends in a professional business program, right?)
1b. MBA is for sure for earning tuition.
I am interested in one question indeed: which tier of MBA are you in? (M7/S16/top 30 eqv?) (famous =/= good / have MBA program, JHU and Princeton are both famous)
(I am asking so not because I want to say that you are right or wrong, good or bad, but because I want to know if this is a problem for some lower tier school only, or it is also the case for some famous school.)
1c. classification based on nationality is not racism, since nationality is not something in-born and cant be changed. (race, gender are obvious counter example)
and we all know that, race discrimination is there, but only become implicit since people avoid talking about that for political correctness.
In addition, grouping up based on culture is also another issue (in additional to race and nationality). This is natural, and your experience of (刚过来留学的一帮,在这里读过本科或高中的一帮,生在这里的又是一帮) give a prefect example of this. All about life experience and ideology.
(I am not saying this is something good or bad - but just this is not something unique in MBA, any master, or any educational program. This is everywhere)
