逻辑题，不论削弱还是加强都是对 题干所给出的结论而言的。

楼主你看，这题的结论是： Therefore, orcas were most likely the immediate cause of the otter population decline.   

说的是orcas 和 otter 之间最直接的关系，E不是，所以不对啊

是不是说1980s只覆盖了1980~2000的前半部分，不能解释1990年以后otter还在减少？

说下B，首先strengthen题 很多情况下用negation的方法是 不行的；assumption的题可以用negation。所有的assumption都可以拿来当strengthen来用，可是有一些strengthen的选项却不能拿来当assumption使用。比如以下例子：

C: 如果锻炼，你就能减肥
Strengthen选项和assumption选项都可以是：你吃饭的热量不会超过当天锻炼消耗的热量。
只可以是Strengthen选项但不可以是assumption的选项：你家基因好，你叔叔一锻炼就减肥。

接下来，如果把这题换成assumption题，看看B对不对：
我觉得你对B的negation不正确
(B) Seals do not eat sea otters, nor do they compete with sea otters for food.
logical negation 应是"至少有一只seal 有一天吃了一只sea otter 或者 与sea otters竞争一小下食物。"然后你的疑问就来了，So？才一只， 才吃了一只otter，who cares....不够造成影响啊。。
因此我觉得B连assumption都不是。

逻辑理论基础：

assumption是结论成立的必要条件，所以否定必要条件，则结论必不成立。
而strengthen可以是结论成立的既不充分也不必要条件，此时对其取否，则对结论是否成立无确定影响。只有当strengten条件同时是assumption时，才可以用negation test。

也跟lz一样错选了E. 发现自己会不自觉地认为当fish减少，seal数量就减少。这个逻辑有误，即使fish数量减少，seal数量也不一定减少，seal可以吃别的替代物。

只是不太理解OG对于E选项的解释：E. Since the sea otters showed no signs of malnutrition, they were probably getting enough fish. But if they were not, commercial fishing rather than orcas might have caused the otter population decline. 这个选项没有说这种fish也是sea otters的food啊？！
