第二个boldfaced的部分是用来支持historian自己的观点的，不是支持前面那个evidence的

A more cautious conclusion than this is called for, however.
注意这个however，前后观点并不一致，最后面那句是作者自己的观点，和前面并不是同一类。
无数次的教训（此处伴有眼泪）告诉我黑脸题一定要时刻注意找however这类转折词！！！
