AA first then AI, different from last month GMAT.  Be careful!!!
AA-Ice cream store- The Frostbite National Bank should not give a loan to the new ice cream store because of the cold winter and another store lost 10% last yr.
AI- Technological and demand in service change: individual worker needs to adjust to the change.  It's not the responsibility of government or business.

我的第一题：1/{2+1/(2+2)}= 4/9 old JJ- Easy!
我的第2题:  一个四边形，有一个直角，直角对面的角是60度(有图)。直角的两条边是2。求面积。(old JJ #34) 360-(60+90)=210. 210/2=105 then, Divide the 四边形 into two triangles- use 45-45-90 and 60-60-60 ratio to solve for the area.  Ans：2sqrt3+2

某公司做桔汁，昨天Orange-nade (a drink's name) concentrate (浓缩粉)，兑上水就成了果汁)和水的比率是1：1，今天这个比率是1：2。两天用了相同数量的concentrate. 昨天和今天的桔汁都卖完了，而且两天所得的revenue相同。昨天的价格是 $0.6一瓶，问今天的price是多少。Ans: 0.4  0.6(2x) = p(3x) =>解出p  (old JJ)

A:X/0.5+Y/0.3=8
B:X/0.3+Y/0.5=3  Ans: A (like old JJ)

我brain is not good- only remember two new ones.  Some problems have too many words.  lease be very careful when you see them.  I only had 2 min 30 sec left.
我的第37题- 2^k is a factor of 1008.  Find the largest value of K? K=6
有题问decimal repetition called period.  eg:1/3=0.3333  so period =1,  Ask for the longest period?我pick Ans: C=11/7 Just try C first, then you will know.

英文-我考不是很好 读化工的。RC-2 very long ones.  85,40,40,95+.  When I saw the 95+, I gave up and guessed most of them because it was toward the end and no time left.  1st RC on #9, so don't worry if you don't see them on #3 or #4.  No JJ for RC.  ETS changed them this week.   I remembered one is about Steam Engines- before in the 1700, steam engines were not very efficient and used a lot of coal.  So not too many people use them because of the cost.  Then in the 1800s, new efficient engines, Watt Engines, were built, and then more people use them.  So resources become scarce.   Two view points presented (careful).  One question asked how the analogy can be made to today's automobiles and gasoline?  The 95+ one is about women-I cannot remember.  I skimmed through it.  

SC-especially+noun vs. specially +noun.  lease check the grammar.  I picked especially because the sentence made more sense.  It was 2-3 split.  Not sure.
ability vs. capability- I picked ability to..... as the sentence made more sense.  
just as so...  just pick this one and the only one correct.
watch for both of....  parallel structures.  (at least 3 on parallel structure, 我的第一题) so know them.  

CR-shit, at least four of them are very long.  Longer than OG and Kaplan. Some answers do not make sense to me, so I had to guess after wasting a lot of time.  If you cannot find the right one, don't waste time!  ETS 大白吃。

My thoughts-  Don't have to read this; just my feelings.  Last month I took GMAT for the first time M:4x V:2x T:6xx.  Very mad at myself.  I didn't finish math, so couldn't do verbal because I was so angry.  I am an engineer but still couldn't do math.  So I didn't study for two weeks, then I found this CD website through taisha.org.  Very lucky to find this site.  Thank you.  I studied math JJ from Jan to now, and some verbal.  My chinese is not very good but I tried hard to translate JJ.  I went through OG on SC and CR again.  Did two Kaplan tests:610, 630.  One PR-690 (very strange format on RC).  Again thanks to CD。Then I took the GMAT the second time.  ETS has changed its patterns, so be careful and try to help each other succeed.  Don't ever give up.  As long as the desire and heart are there, you can fight ETS.

想问37题, 2^k的largest value.
你的答案k=6, 可1008根本不能被2^6整除.
请问答案是不是4. 1008=2^4*3^2*7

I am sorry on 37.  Mistype- Yes, it's 2^4=16.  So k=4.  Type too fast.  Thank you!

Hi ruthere, sure no problem.  My verbal is not good so other people’s way maybe much better:  But here is how I prepared:

Barron and Arco- very bad books.  I bought them in April.  They are nothing like real GMAT.  I didn’t know anything about GMAT at that time.  Just bought some books at the bookstore and I felt cheated.  

OG- I used downdowndown.net materials (now I don’t see them).  No explanations.  Then end of July I found CD, great CR, SC, RC explanations on OG.  I feel that OG for verbal is very important.  Study the structures and know how the correct answers are worded.  RC passages- know the structures!!!  They are all similar in one way or another.

Kaplan and Princeton- I borrowed from the library in June.  No CD Rom, so I just read the two books and did the paper tests.  I found CD website end of July after my 1st test.  I was able to do computer questions!  Kaplan is better than PR on CR.  But PR is good on SC.  On the test, PR’s SC questions are similar.  

800 score 5 tests- I did them.  Not so good.  Not like real test.  Math was easy and I finish too early.  Verbal was nothing like real tests.  Maybe just for fun do them.

Essays- last test I got a 5.5.  I used the materials from downdowndown.net and practiced about 10 essays.  I read most of the GMAT AI and AA questions from www.mba.com.  Know basic templates and memorize key words.  

Math- I didn’t do much the first time.  I have been out of college for 5 years and don’t remember too much on combinations and probability.  I didn’t even know these questions were on GMAT until I found out on some internet GMAT discussion groups right before the test.  I got 47 first time and had to guess the last 5 questions. I thought I had failed math because I had to guess so many.  
2nd time- Went through JJ from Jan to the latest update.  Very helpful.  I think that’s all you really need.  But maybe do Kaplan math to know the English questions and how they are asked if you are not comfortable with English terms.  Because on the test, there were some very long word problems.  Kaplan math is much harder than PR, but not much combination.  I used materials from here to do combinations.  

Practice, Persistence, and Patience!!!!!  3Ps.
