As I know, your company will reimburse $5000 tuition per year. So, parttime MBA is a good choice for you if you want to stay in IT. If you want to switch career, then go for a fulltime MBA.

btw: I think your company seldom laid off people. It's a very stable company.

Personal situation plays a key role in my decision. But I'd rather not to disclose it.

Only part-time program qualifies reimbursement. But Hass is not on my list.

I wish I had found this "silver bullet" before I took my first GMAT. Well it is not too late right?

Consult your close friends and family members. Most of us in CD only know your gmat score and years of experience. We can only see the number. Only the people around you and yourself can tell who you really are. There arent any silver bullets to answer your questions. Ask your heart: Do you want it, and why you want it.

I have discussed it with a close friend from Standford B-school. I would fit into the high tech management, consulting or strategic planning cateory in this area. Multi-culture environment is what i want to focus on. As I have said, my experience is techinical. No management experience. That's my weakness. But my overall personality and communicational skill is above average, especially in Chinese applicants pool.

The name of your company is definitely going to be a BIG plus on your application. However, be ready the admin asks you quesitons why you've never been promoted to a managerial position for the past whatever years. If you are going to sell yourelf to be a future entrepreneur, the fact that you have always been working on a technical positon for past years will be mitigated. Also, it is well known that stanford favors youngsters. Your age might be an issue for stanford. berkely or anderson might be better fit for you. There must be some other schools that are good at the IT branch if you dont have to stay in west coast. But i really have no knowledge on that.
