我是这么理解的，如果是not  only....but also 的用法，可以；如果是not only...but...的用法（好像在og 中看过如果表达不但而且的意思的话，also是不可以省略的），那就不是不仅而且的意思了，就是纯粹的表转折的用法，所以不存在并列的问题，前面的not也不能单独使用了

This misdirected modification suggests that heat and light are also (in addition to the Sun) a source of the solar wind. Choice B may be faulted for the awkward word order of also the Sun, while C unnecessarily uses streaming rather than the more straightforward stream. Choice E fails to use parallel phrases in the idiomatic construction not only x ... but [also] y: of should not appear before not only if it appears after but, and but also is preferable to but. 3w对其中的E选项有些不清楚，可我觉得这里高亮部分的用法就不对，要么应该是not only...but also...，这里的not 可单独使用，要么not only..., but  但是其中的not 不能单独用，应该有个助动词，比如这里应该用did not only creat，因为他已经不是not only... but also 的用法了，不存在对称平行的问题，就是两个句子。你觉得呢？？

好久没看语法了，真是感觉退步好多啊，呵呵。我也来凑个热闹，看看是不是能帮上大家。

我认为，对于not only... but (also)优先级考虑是作为平行结构，因为also是副词，在不影响句子平行的前提下是可以省略的，省略后的意思仍然是“不仅，，而且”。 而且大全中好像没有省略了also就要在前面加助动词这一说法和例子，请看下例中解释中的红字部分：

189. 刚刚看本月数学jj，有一题看不懂，与大家讨论一下：

14. 离中心5800，离表面3700，求火星的一个过球心的截面的周长（因为球体不能求周长），

SA: 4200PI

这题的原文如下：

Phobus, one of the statellite of Mars, resolves about Mars at a distance of approximatly 5800 miles from the center of Mars and approximatly 3'700 miles from the surface of Mars. If it is assumed that Mars is shperical and the orbit of phobus is circular, what's the spherical and the orbit of phobus is circular, what's the approxiate circumstance, in miles, or Mars at its equator.

到底题目要求什么啊？？

根据下面的英文,我觉得是说一个绕着火星的行星的轨迹.

不过因为火星是个球体,这个轨迹肯定是个圆,看题大概就可以理解成要求这个轨迹横切这个球体(过中心)的圆的周长(好罗嗦啊,呵呵,没被绕晕了吧?)

这样5800-3700就是那个半径了,周长就是4200Pi.
