对于这一题我也不太明白
Archaeologists in Ireland believe that a recently discovered chalice, which dates from the eighth century, was probably buried (to keep from) being stolen by invades.
1.to keep from
2. to keep it from
3. to avoid
4. in order that it would avoid
5. in order to keep from
我主要是在2 和 3里面纠结,OG上面说3不合适是因为the chalice acts to prevent its own theft 。
但是keep不是同样的道理吗?
chalice也无法自己keep it from啊。
就这个地方理解不了,avoid 和keep it from有什么区别 |
