my window version is win98..I can't visit website of hotmail...does such problem relate to virius ?? But on the website of micsoft, it only talk about version beyond win98, such as windown2000...

You're right. something like "sobig", "i love you", you can avoid to affectting from not using outlook or lotus notes. However, worms desn't, such as "msblaster", "mumu", and "nimda", it's hardly to protect from internet, because it attacks the windows vuleriability.
In short, It depends on where and what those virus or worms attack for, and the defensive ability of vendor's software.
