看完文章后,我感觉C和E 是建议增加样本数,但题目的翻译是减少样本数,这样对吗?

支持C。Only in research on entirely new treatments are new and unexpected variables likely to arise.的意思是新的且未预期的因素只有在研究完全新的疗法的时候才能出现。而C选项的意思是It routinely reveals new variables in research on entirely new treatments.在研究完全新的疗法的时候通常能显示出新的因素。两个单词在这里的使用并不影响句子的意思。而E选项的significant是硬伤

好久远的帖子了呀，我选的b，后来仔细琢磨了一下觉得还是e好。b可能确实是disproportionately，但benefit与否就无从得知了。e选项里面的争议点就是significant，其实只要是relevant to the study也就挺significant了吧。
