olin 面试 by laura

今天凌晨的面试 scm
laura 正如各位所说 语速很快，我听着有点吃力，大部分靠猜，呵呵，蒙混不过去，她说我唯一的weakness就是英语差，打击啊，建议我参加入学前的英语培训，如果录取的话。
从教育背景开始，到why scm why olin?
还说没有学校能保证我以后能找到满意工作，问我short term long term career goal.
她说很清楚，动机很好。
why 以后还干咨询?
说我现在闲在家里干啥？要解释。
然后是q&a?
我问了是否能转MBA，她说可以，然后很热心的回答我。
总的来说，laura 还算nice,就是语速快点，对于她的理解，她会重复一遍，给我确认。
希望能录取吧。
对了 scm 总共招20人，竞争激烈。

Lao Sun,
Thanks for sharing your interview experience. To be honest, I think you are overqualified for this program. Although not confirmed from Gary or Laura, I believe this program is designed for fresh college graduate students with minimal working experience. The parts that could possibly hurt your application are 1 - English proficiency; 2 - Work gap. Other than those, I don't see why Olin wouldn't accept you. Attending English courses prior to the program isn't a bad choice, either. Those courses would help you improve the oral, listening and reading skills which might make you comfortable in the intensive 1-yr program.

I also heard from Gary that Olin plans to have 20-30 students for this program this year depending on the quality of applications. There were only 8-9? students enrolled in the program in 2009, since it was the first batch. Most of the students are from WUSTL. I would guess the majority of students for this program this year would come from WUSTL undergrad as well. Assuming 50% yield rate, I would expect Olin to admit around 50 people for MS-SCM program this year - again this is my estimate.

I haven't done mine yet, but will do this week. Those comments are based on the emails correspondance between Gary and me.

I would post my interview questions once I finish it.

哥们，谢谢你的抬举，overqualify 不敢想，其实像之前和你讨论的，我还是觉得MBA适合我，OLIN可以转，也可以combine，那天我问laura了，她说觉得情况会在两周之内详细发邮件告诉我。另外我今天一看邮件，被 notre dame WL了，也罢。
