premise:  tax
        increased 8 percent, sales decreased sharply

               tax not increased , sales decreased one percent

Conclusion:  after tax price is stronly related to sales

actually, we can only infer from premise that tax
                    is related to sales, but the conclusion said after tax price is stronly related to sales.

To identify after tax price caused sales decreased, we must assume pretax price has no impact on sales. then pretax price should be <= previous year
