Industrial emissions of sulfur dioxide (SO2) impede cloud formation, lowering temperatures in regions with high SO2 emissions. Computer modeling suggests that beginning about 1950, the climate of North America and Europe cooled because of SO2 emissions there, and that this cooling in turn caused the tropical rain belt to move southward, away from Africa’s Sahel region. Therefore, industrial emissions in Europe and North America were probably a major cause of the severe Sahel droughts of the 1970s and 1980s.

Much of the materials in landfills is paper and other organic materials that decompose gradually. 提个想法:能否把题目中相连的两个单词断开,每次看到这里都会卡一下,再往后看

1.strengthen题
(背景:SO2会降低气温)(可忽略)
前提:N和E,SO2排放→降低气温→热带下雨带南移,远离S
结论:S干旱就是因为N和E的排放

2.weaken题
(背景:埋在地里的有机材料,分解慢)(可忽略)
前提:湿的分解加快→减少占地,
结论/提议:加水,使分解加快

看到答案后,自己认为的解析:
第二题:仍然是weaken题(这个要读清楚)
题眼在于“environmental impact”,C符合
E.some=管综的逻辑学“有的”不影响,常考点

SO2会损坏云的formation 降低温度 模型显示1950年起NA和E的气候因为SO2低,并且影响了热带雨林带往南院里A 因此工业排放是S1970-1080严重干旱的主要原因 找增强 E
A 说East Asia SO2排放量上升 无关       
B 讨论的内容不对 讲干旱的影响 要增强结论要找干旱的原因是SO2

P:二氧化硫排放阻碍云层形成、降低温度。计算机模型显示欧美气候因为二氧化硫而变冷,变冷使雨带南移形成干旱。
C:欧美工业排放极有可能是1970-1980年S地区严重干旱的主要原因
G:加强-原因论证
A:与增长快慢无关;B:问原因,与已发生的影响无关;C:说是自然发生,他因削弱。D:与除了so2的东西无关

P:垃圾填埋大部分都是纸,其他有机物可逐渐自然降解。因为当潮湿的条件这些物质可以降解的更快,
C:所以保持湿度可以加速填埋土地的空置率;既能降低对新地的需求,又能减缓现存土地空间的使用扩张。
目的:降低土地填埋的负面环境影响。手段:安装水利系统灌溉加湿
