In January of last year the Moviemania chain of movie theaters started propping its popcorn in canola oil, instead of the less healthful coconut oil that it had been using until then. Now Moviemania is planning to switch back, saying that the change has hurt popcorn sales. 我直接用的排除法,B C D E都不对吧,然后就选A了,虽然开始也想不明白为什么
B. Moviemania makes more money on food and beverages sold at its theaters than does on sales of movie tickets.
   无关比较,排除
C. Moviemania's customers prefer the taste of popcorn popped in coconut oil to that of popcorn popped in canola oil.
    削弱,既然顾客更喜欢那就应该换回来
D. Total attendance at Moviemania's movie theaters was more than 20 percent higher last year than the year before.
    无关,attendance增加并不意味着popcorn销售增加
E. The year before last, Moviemania experienced a 10 percent increase in popcorn sales over the previous year.
    无关比较,题干是讲今年和去年,这里说的是去年和前年,对不上

题中说明:M的popcorn转换应用花籽油之后,销量增幅为5%。

选项A中说:M总营业额增长少于5%。说明转换健康花籽油的popcorn的销量增幅高于总销量增幅,属于绿线带动整体增长的营业项目,支持文中argument,驳斥了M的观点。

这样进一步理解:整个经济大环境和M企业自身内部环境可提供的销售动力可推动的整体销售增幅小于5%,但是popcorn在转换成花籽油之后销售增幅为5%。题中没有提供其他信息,此时,我们至少可以推断出花籽油的应用没有削减popcorn的销售增长能力。

所以,驳斥M的结论,支持文中argument。

其实我觉得哪一个都想不明白。。不过听你这样一说 好像是有点明白了。。

补充:总营业额销量增幅和popcorn销量增幅比较都是去年,即相同时间段的比较。
