请问supervisor的推荐信

这里的supervisor不一定是直属老板吧，因为外企部门人多，一般我们新人进去老板会指定一个比较senior的同事supervise自己，这种情况应该找带自己的这个同事写吧，比老板了解自己。。大家觉得呢

Supervisor = direct report. If you aren't choosing him, you need a good reason. After all, if the company trusts this guy to report about you and evaluate you, then you'd better be able to explain why you don't trust him to do the same.

Another option might be to do both. Supervisor and mentor. After all, schools allow you to have more than one LOR.

You want to ask the person who knows you the best—don’t worry about who is more senior.  So if for example the person is only one “level” above you, but they know your work the best, THAT is the person to ask to write your rec.  the better they know you, the more personal (and good) your essays will be.  Hope this helps, and good luck!

Hi, Jon

My understanding on the supervisor is the direct report. Most of the B-school are asking for one recommend letter from your supervisor. My question is if there is some reason that I am not able to get a recommend letter from my direct report but someone else in the company who also knows me well enough to write a letter, will it jeopardize my application.  Will the school ask me the question why I do not have a recommend letter from my direct report? thanks in advance

不要比较direct 还是 supervise 或是 senior， （这几词本身也不能比较，因为词性……）
哪个人喜欢你，愿意帮你十几个甚至是几十个小时的时间，同时能写出details来，
那他就是最佳人选。

我以前也犹豫过要不要找我公司的董事写，后来决定做罢了。没有details啊……

supervisor是直属老板.说白了就是能决定你饭碗的那人叫supervisor.
你说的那个叫mentor.
这2个人都可以写.但要2选1的话, 当然要直属老板写了.
