答案是A，但是A选项中and was subsequently butchered对应的主语应该是fossils，所以比较困惑。其也选项也一样都有不一致的地方。

WAS是对应whale的。

HAS 主谓不一致，杀BC。
只有A的AND是平行的。且没有任何理由用"having been beached" 杀DE
