诚心求助版上大侠，offer选择

本来只好去一个外资的boutique invesment bank，但是忽然经过周折，拿到了朋友推荐的一个外资PE(15亿RMB左右的规模吧)的analyst的职位，底薪都差不多，>150k/yr. 想请教各位大侠，哪一个对于涉足不太深的“新人”更好呢？有朋友说现在小行岂止是乙方，连丙方都不如，但是这个小行的track record还不错，尤其是买壳上市。。。但是这个PE也是刚刚设立不久，所以前途也不太明朗。。。小弟欧美小硕出身，某大行quant analysis国外工作1年+国内某外资行1年，一定帮忙给点意见啊，感激不尽，谢谢谢谢。。。

呵呵，确实是人民币，薪水不是关键，现在不太关心那个，在二线城市我觉得差不多刚够了

which 2nd tier city is this?

you need to provide more info on the boutique man. what's the size? what's your job title? i felt its rare that:
1. there're legit boutique banks in 2nd tier cities
2. your base is only RMB150K when most elite boutiques are known to pay on par with or more than BB's with a base equivalent to ~500K

I feel it is not appropriate to judge the boutique IB in mainland of China by U.S elite standards coz we all know that they are tatally  different worlds, not to mention the "huge" package (even more tha that in BB, you mentioned) and "elite" brand

Dear 小佳，thanks for ur post. I am based in Chengdu while the main office is definitely not there and the size would be around 20-30 ppl in China and same size in U.S.

I wanna know hows the prob. of starting from such boutique to future opportunities, like MM/BB IBD or PE/VC. Timing is bad and I only have such choices, well, both of which are not satisfied enough.

you guys are right about this. the reason why i checked with this is that i haven't really heard about legit foreign IB shops that provide traditional banking services in 2nd cities. are they more like a 3rd-party advisor? if so my suggestion is to stay (far) away. all else equal, i'll pick PE over IB any time of the day.
