Some peope think
that parents should plan their children's leisure time carefully.Other
people believe that children should decide for themselves how
to spend their
free time,Which idea do you agree with?Give reasions for your choice.
According
to a recent survey, the number of children’s leisure time has been declined dramatically.
Why? Most of them are pushed into vary study field from piano to ballet regardless
whether they have interest on it or not as a result of the fanatic parents’
wishes.
When asked about whether should parents plan their
children’s leisure time, the majority of people believe the answer is definite
since the child is too young to make decision themselves, but the other people
regard children should decide for themselves how to spend their time.
Personally, I prefer children should have the right to make decision themselves.
Because, I think let children make decision has more advantages.
There
are numerous reasons why I say let youth make their
own choices, and I would here explain a few of the most important ones.
The
main reason is that in this way children can make full use of their
talent and
creativity. I t can be given a concrete example children whose life are
entirely arranged will have little chance to think about the future as
all of
that has been designed by their parents. They just do what they are
expected to do,following the schedule their parents made for them. On
the other hand, those make their own decision to
their spare time, have numerous choices, they play games from which
developed
their creativity and mental which will be a great impact in their
future life.
Another reason why I advocate the attitude of let
children make decision themselves is that it can help children form an independent
personality. Take the case of a thing that children who are asked to deal with
their daily matters from what he/she will read in the evening to what to play
in the weekends, soon take on the habit of independent life, and surely enjoy
the life they truly love.
One very strong argument for children’s independent is
that too much interference from parents may lead to generation gap. This
demonstrates the undeniable fact that the girl in my neighbor has the talents
in the singing and hope to be a well-known singer. However, her parents believe
to enter the normal academic university is the best choice for her. Both of
them insist the notion they thought is justness. Thus a tremendous generation
gap formed.
Of course, choosing the standpoint that parents plan children’s
leisure time also has advantage to some extent, by helping children arrange the
spare time they will not do something that too emotional and dangerous
furthermore parents can also teach children something they specialize in.
But if all these factors are contemplated, the advantages
of let children make decision themselves what to do in their spare time carry
more weight than those of parents make plan for children. From what has been
discussed above, we may finally draw the conclusion that it is better to let
children themselves to make decision what to do in their leisure time.
