Do you agree with the viewpoint that people are now easier to get educated than in the past?
In this modern society, are people more easily to get educated than inthe past? This problem is a much-debated one in that it compared education oftwo period. Personally speaking, I would be one of those who argue that peoplecan have easier access to education today.
To begin with, government are more willing to support the publiceducation nowadays, which is, as we all know, the most important and easy waypeople can get educated. Therefore, such public education as primary schools, high schools, universities and so on, can have more fund to improve theireducation envrionment. This can be demonstrated by the undeniable fact of ouruniversity. Every year, more than 10 billion RMB, 5 percent more of municipalgovernment revenue than in 2005, can be used to raise salary of staff, purchasesophisticated equipment to lab and also, sponsor those who cannot go to collegebecause of poverty. Without these monetary support, hardly can our universitysustain itself.
Besides, with the development of technology, especially personal computerand network, we can get educated in a more convenient way. There are thousandsof hundreds of online resources like videos, documents and pictures. More specifically, take an undergraduate of chemistry as an example. When I was in high school, our teacher used to make model of chemistry substance to illustrate theskeleton structure. However, nowadays, our professor downloads some picture orvideo to do the same thing. Therefore, he can have more time to explain itschemical properties, not just get us understand the physical property. Fromthis example, technology shows some of its value in education.
Last but not the least, people are eager to get educated. Individualquality is of increase importance which shows many skill of one person, such asskill of communication, of study an so on. Undoubtedly, getting educated is anefficient way to get better individual quality and also, to some extent, ahigher level of education means a better individual quality. A recentinvestigation reveals that 70% of the undergraduates are willing to furthertheir study and get master degree, which shows the desier of most student toget higher level of education.
When taking into account all these factors I have numerated, we maysafely arrive at the conclusion that people are now easier to get educated thanin the past. |
