又看了一下E.   After the chemical spill, an environmental group rejected a proposal to increase the   Merrick sea turtle population by transferring eggs from Baker’s Beach to nearby beaches that had no been affected by the spill.

觉得它的BY用得有点怪怪的：

这里的by transferring 的动作发出者好像应该是environmental group吧。如果是这样的话，那么他们把海龟蛋移到一个没有被污染的海滩上应该是incease 海龟数量的，这又和他们rejected a proposal to increase the Merrick sea turtle population 的意思相反。这是怎么回事呢？

再看回B. Female Merrick sea turtles begin returning to Baker’s Beach to lay their eggs when they are ten years old. 是不是说：正常来说，五年前生的小海龟（蛋）需要十年以后才能回来产蛋，可是五年前的蛋都被spill破坏了。所以十年以后海龟的数量还是会下降，而五年前来下蛋的海龟数量上升这只是暂时的现象（因为spill只对蛋而不对成年的海龟起作用）？？

E的意思为：有人建议环境团体将蛋移到安全地方，以增加海龟数量，但环境团体拒绝了。但不是答案。因为环境团体不做，别的可以做。关键是原文得出结论的隐含假设为：Hatch出来的海龟多于死去的海龟，所以每年回来的海龟仍然越来越多。B说这个假设不成立。因为hatch出来的海龟还没回来。E对这个前提没起作用。
