Anyone know Operations Research major? im economic major right now and want apply master Operations Research. do i need more math backgroud? and also can someone introduce some about this major? tahnk you very much

Hi, Its good to see a problem I can help. Currently I am in the major about logistics engineering and I have I a few courses related to Operation Research.
Briefly speaking, OR is to build the mathematical Algorithm to solve the problems in operation level, like Facility location problems, workshop scheduling problem and Traveling Salesman problem. So, yes, you need math background, But it doesn't mean you need to be a fantastic caculator, because our job is to identify the problem, build model, solve it by the software, and evaluate your solution and try to sell it. Speaking of software, you may need some basic understanding of computer science.
