Nowadays, as people’s standard of living increases, traveling becomes an essential aspect of today’s life. As a result, it becomes a constant debate as to whether people should travel alone or with a companion. Despite that traveling alone has a unique advantage over traveling with a companion, I would prefer the latter choice rather than the former one. My arguments for this viewpoint are as follows.
The first reason that persuades me to form my preference is that traveling with a companion costs much less energy. Compared to solitary traveling, which often requires an individual to be cautious all the time, a companion can sometimes help to take care of our belongings and keep one eye on the surroundings, thus enabling us to relax and rest. A good rest is essential during our trip since we can spend the saved energy on other more meaningful purposes, such as sightseeing and mountain climbing. Undoubtedly, traveling with a companion is very beneficial.
Another reason that cannot be ignored is that it is more enjoyable to travel when someone is accompanying you. You can appreciate the beauty of the landscape together, discuss the traditions and customs of a particular culture after returning from a museum, and photograph each other in front of some famous skyscrapers and so on. These activities cannot be done by a single person, yet they are very attractive. Traveling with a companion can easily avoid this problem. A famous saying has that, “happiness can be doubled when you share with someone else.” Then why not find someone to accompany you for a journey? You will find it a lot more enjoyable.
Beyond these obvious reasons, there lies a more in-depth point that people can save money when traveling with a companion. It may seem ridiculous at first, but after pondering it for sometime, the point becomes reasonable. On the one hand, if a person is driving to the destination, the gas price will not be affected if he is with a companion. Consequently, if they split the bill into half, transportation fee will be reduced. On the other hand, a two-bed room is always cheaper than a one-bed room proportionally in a hotel. Both of these present that it is economically efficient when traveling with a companion.
In a final analysis, given the three previous reasons, it is a desirable choice to travel with a companion. As a result, I recommend people find accompanies when they are planning for a journey.
