有一题不懂意思！求救！

A certain quantity is measured on two different scales, the R-scale and the S-scale, that are related linearly.Measurements on the R-scale of 6 and 24 correspond to measurements on the S-scale of 30 and 60, respectively.What measurement on the R-scale corresponds to a measurement of 100 on the S-scale?

应该是以R这种方式 6 对应s 这种方式是 30 而在R上的24对应在S上是60 问如果S上是 100 那么在R上对应的是多少？

我也算得48
题目的意思就是用R,S两种标准计算的时候一个quantity 有不同的值，但其实这个quantity是同一个，给你两个已知条件在R中=6时，再S中=30，在S中=24时，在R中=60.有一个条件很重要that are related linearly，他们是线性相关的，也就是二元一次的方程，或者理解成函数，设它们的线性关系为R=aS+b（a，b是常数）而题中给的两个条件就是R与S的2个不同值，带到方程结出a=5/3 ,b=20···最后当R=100时，S=48

(24-6)/(60-30)=(x)/(40), 解出来x=24 再加上24 就是答案了你把它理解成把米单位换算成inch，差不多的

其实就解两个线性方程组：（千万注意：related linearly）
i.e., y=ax+b , then we will have two equations listed :
(1)6a+b=30 (2) 24a+b=60.

then you can figure out the answer needed is 48.

but yes, i admitted that this question is kinda roundabout.
