Hello all,

I studied in USA (SMU) - Master accounting graduated with GPA 3.925. 1 year program, during winter holiday, had an internship in Utah.

Now I am in Germany for 4.5 years. I learned 1 year German at the very beginning, after that I am working till now (job application with recomendations from my professor and director finance in USA), changed 2-time jobs, from account manager to controller, all permanent positions.

I am happy to answer questions which concerns you.

Hello,

do you think that German level will serve as a glass door for non-German native speaking ppl to get promoted in Germany?

I always had the worries during my internship here in Germany that my German is not good enough...

I think so. Even though I am working for an American company, 95% of my colleagues are German, they can all speak English, but not so good. Our Business leader is from Finland, but she speaks very good German.

I would suggest to improve your German skills, it will come with the time.
