两道prep数学求指教急

快要考试了做prep遇到两道数学题怎么也想不通（都是DS题），求指教谢谢啦
1.If X is an integer, is the median of the 5 numbers shown greater than the average(arithmetic mean) of the 5 numbers?
5 numbers----(X,1,3,8,12)

(1) X>6
(2) X is greater than the median of the 5 numbers

答案是E，可我怎么觉得两个都能独立判断呢？请指教

2.On the number line, the distance between point A and point C is 5, the distance between point B and point C is 20. Does Point C lies between point A and point B?

（1）the distance between A and B is 25
（2）A lies to the left of B

答案选A，那为什么B不对呢？

1) x =7; x=10,000
2) x = 9; x=10,000
