[CL] 市长被指责说离婚率上升是因为离婚法律放宽了，这个市长驳斥说离婚法律放宽是5年前，而那个时候的离婚人数跟现在一样多，所以放宽离婚法律不是引起离婚率升高的原因，
问weaken.答案是：现在的结婚人口数量没有比5（10）年前急剧下滑很多

我的问题是：题目根据5年前离婚人数与现在是一样多，然后推导出放宽法律不是原因，削弱的话，就是放宽法律是主要原因了

这个答案是如何来削弱的啊？谢谢

This is a question about number and percentage.

The accuser talks about the rising percentage of married couples filing for divorce while the mayor cites the numbers of married couples filing for divorce. But if the total number of married couple now is shrinking drasticly compared with that of 5 years before, the mayor's argument cannot hold: same number of divorce, but a smaller denominator representing the married couple pool.

我想应该结婚人数有急剧减少才能够weaken市长的说法吧~因为市长argue的point是离婚人数相比五年前（也就是法律刚放宽还没产生作用的时候）没有增加，可如果结婚人数减少的话，那离婚率就升高了，也就可以削弱市长的说法了，你看呢？
