If m and r are two numbers on a number line, what is the value of r ?

(1)The distance between r and 0 is 3 times the distance between m and 0.

(2) 12 is halfway between m and r.

答案E，我选C。不明白为何是E。

If the finance charges are equal to 40 percent of the remainder of the 1 machine of type B under this arrangement?

第一题，根据条件可的方程
|r|=3|m|
|m-12|=|r-12|
求解这个方程，可以发现r的取值不唯一。

可以有 m=-12.r=36的情况

如果代数不是很好的话，第一题划一下数轴就可以了，可以m为负，r为正。m=-12,r=36
第二题。。。后面部分没看明白
