LSAT S-5-4-16

16. The public is aware of the possibility of biases in the mass media and distrusts the media as too powerful. The body of information against which the public evaluates the plausibility of each new media report comes, however, from what the public has heard of through the mass media.
If the view above is correct, it provides a reason for accepting which one of the following conclusions?

Sorry, I cannot type Chinese.

You should understand the first sentence. Public does not trust mass media. But when public evaluate a particular report to see if it is biased not, they use mass media as the benchmark.

Does it help?

What is the meaning of "distrusts    the    media    as    too    powerful"?

I can't imagine out what is the    sentence element (that) the "as too powerful" functions in the sentence. Adjunct? Complement? Or something else?

Help!

Love is seen as too powerful. --> We see love as too powerful.

We distrust love as too power.

支持楼上的说法。
