An experiment was done in which human subjects recongnize a pattern within a matrix of abstract designs and then select another design that completes that pattern. The results of the experiment were surprising.the lowest expenditure of energy in neurons in the brain was found in those subjects who performed most successfully in the experiments.

C（正确）people who are better at abstract pattern recognition have more energy-effecient neural connections.我不太明白，题干说神经细胞耗费最少能量的是那些表现最成功的人。那能量耗费最少，就是指more energy-effecient吗？我不太能把这2者起来啊。
D The energy expenditure of the subjects' brains increases when a design that completes the initially recongized pattern is determined.
OG中关于D的解释是：the most successful subjects would presumably not have completed fewer patterns than average, so the posited increase in energy would likely lead to higher energy expenditures for them, not lower.不理解啊，求大牛解答！

能量耗费最少 = efficient to use energy.

In fact C is kind of curious in another aspect: neuron connection and energy expenditure.

这些subject在做拼图实验，选一个design和原来design（the initially recognized pattern）拼起来。

D说这些人在作出选哪个拼图的决定的时候，大脑能耗上升。

OG的解释意思是，有可能完成拼图最好的人搞定的拼图数量>=平均数量，如果加上D的假设，那完成最好的人可能因为完成了太多的拼图，那么虽然他完成每个拼图的能耗是小的，但是总的能量并不见得就小。实际上是驳斥原文结论的。

OG的解释意思是，有可能完成拼图最好的人搞定的拼图数量>=平均数量，如果加上D的假设，即，完成一个拼图大脑能耗就增加，那完成最好的人可能因为完成了的拼图数量多，从而使得虽然他完成每个拼图的能耗小，但总的能量大。

那么lowest consumption说不定就是在完成拼图数量最小，也就是最unsuccessful的人身上找到的。因此D不能作为原文的假设。

最成功的人的完成数量根据假设不应该低于平均数量，因此 The energy expenditure of the subjects' brains 增加的话，将会导致他们更多的能量花费，而不是低的能量花费。

如果这作为题目的假设

就会导致，if those subjects who performed most successfully in the experiments have completed more recognized patterns than average,他们的大脑消耗就会增加，于题目的结论相反！

于是~这就是D的解释的意思

因为
A.你都假定patterns的确定会导致大脑消耗的增加
B.那怎么一定能够得出擅长做该实验的一定会比普通人select patterns少呢？
C.又怎么从而得到他消耗的能量就少呢~

A推不出B，从而推不出C

D答案就错误了
