推荐信可能赶不上deadline了，怎么办？

找了以前的老板写推荐信，一个月前就答应了，但是可能他太忙了，一直拖着没给我写。中间催了几次了也没用。现在写email也不回，打电话给公司，说去度假了，1月4号以后才回来。deadline是6号阿。他度假回来肯定也有很多事要做，不可能马上给我写的。我该怎么办？

Schools tend to be more lenient with recommendation letters. However there is always the risk that if you turn it in too late, you miss R2. Can't be helped; after all, this is the deadline, and you're technically late.

In case you're wondering, I wouldn't contact the school, either: that may simply show that you're bad at managing your recommenders.

maybe you can draft the letter for him, and he can make the changes himself before submitting it.

I think the idea of you drafting the letter is a good one. I gave my recommnders some ideas in point form , and from there, they were found it much easier to come with the recommendations.

我覺得你乾脆換個推薦人好了,之前我也是有個推薦人答應我了但遲遲沒交,把我急的...後來我索性換人...這種沒責任感的人怎樣都不會體會到你的煎熬的

If you change your recommender last minute (actually, in my opinion, if you change your recommender any time after notification), without good explanation, you risk burning bridges. Afterall, your recommender might already spend time on it without you knowing (showing on the application website). Moreover, it is an agreement you entered from the get go, and your recommender might not take it the positive way if you drop him/her.
