求助：关于Verbal percentile，实效性，是否retake

My questions for ur kindly informing:

With a score 730 over all, I got a verbal 37( about 83%) . Do you think it may be not competitive for the application of top schools? (since there are implications that many top b-schools set a criteria for math and verbal percentile and to chinese candidates, the hurdle of verbal is set up to 80%.)

Another question : Whether the reported score and pecentile of verbal could alter with the time goes by? (For instance, with my taking this test two years ago, is it possible that my verbal could be even under 80% which was originally rated two years ago? )

If so, Have I to retake this exam?

q2: yes, but if you report your percentage last year and even your percentage changes this year, i think biz schools understand that..

Come on. This is not competitive enough??? B-school is admitting people who got common sense.

As a Chinese, you think veral 37 is tooooo low????

If REALLY too low for your dream school, then retake it. Why should worry about the percentile, which is hardly noticed by schools.

Wow, great thanks to Lynn-EC, I do hope my verbal percentile is okay just as what u said.

M used to having no worry about my score, but since some CDers here kindly reminding that as to chinese candidates, the verbal score( epecially the percentile) plays a critical part of the over all score, M coming to worried about my verbal then, hehe.

So you do not think its necessary for me to retake the test, right? I thought I agree with u on my own behalf.

Well, basically.....I'm not a NN...Only my 2 cents..

I don't think you have to retake it. .. Just pay more attention to your carer goals and essays.

I don't think those TOP TOP schools will reject you because of your 730 GMAT, but will reject you because of your poor career plan or lack of experience.

There are already enough extremely high gmat candidate for top top schools.

But, still ,some top schools, (not top top), will take people with extremely high GMAT to fight for their ranking.

My point is: it's your call to decide if you wanna retake it...

But, GMAT involves luck. 730 is already very high. Are you really sure you will get 750+?

So, better to save your engergy to do sth more valuable to contribute to your application.

Anyway, If a school wants you, they'll see everything good from you.

If a school doesn't want you, they'll always find some faults from you.

Just do you best job and finger crossed. ~
