Although the ratio of physicians to total population is about the same in the United Stateds and Canada, the United Stateds has 33% more surgeons per capita. Clearly, this is the reason people in United States undergo 40% more operations per capita htan do Canadians.
A. patients in the US do not have a greater need for surgery than do patients in Canada.
B. the population of the US is not larger than that of Canada.
c. TS patients sometimes travel t Canada for certain kinds of surgery
d. general practitioners in the US do not as a rule examine a patient who is a candiate for surgery before sending the patient to a surgeon.
e. there are no unnecessary surgical operations perfomed in Canada.

很不解~~想不明白为什么正确答案会是A。怎么都想不明白~~~求高人指点。。。。。
