1. Malik’s recipe of 4 servings of a certain dish requires 3/2 cups of pasta. According to this recipe, what is the number of cups of pasta that Malik will use the next time he prepares this dish?

(1) the next time he prepares this dish, Malik will make half as many servings as he did the last time he prepared the dish

(2) Malik used 6 cuips of pasta the last time he prepared this dish

2.The positive integers x, y and z are such that x is a factor of y and y is a factor of z. Is z even?

(1) xy is even

还有一题

Of the 60 animals on a certain farm, 2/3 are either pigs or cows. How many of the animals are cows?

(1) the farm has more than twice as many cows as it has pigs

(2) the farm has more than 12 pigs

感觉好象此题很无聊，题干说某种菜a certain dish 准备4份servings 要3/2 cups of pasta。但是它并没有说last time Malik准备了多少份这种菜，所以需要（1）＋（2）才可以得出解。

理解不知是否正确，请一起讨论。

此题应该很简单，根据条件x和y都是Z的factor，（1）xy even就说明X和Y中至少有一个even

（2）y even，那么当然Z也是even的

在数轴上的顺序，从左到右，y,0,x,z和y,0,z,x都满足（1）和（2）所以是无法确定

（1）Cow至少是pigs的两倍，（题干）cows和pigs一共40只，又知道（2）pigs大于12只，那就推出pigs-13,cows-27

条件(1)应该是XZ为EVEN

两数相乘为偶数，至少有一个是偶数，如果Ｘ为偶，它是Ｚ的factor，那Ｚ自然也是偶数．．．

2/3 are either pigs or cows. 我理解成40只可能是猪，也可能是牛。而不是猪和牛一共四十，此外还有别的动物。理解出问题了。
