答案是A,我知道一定跟heavy rainfall 有关，但是不是应该higher than 1910才能说明文中的么？

如果light,moderate,heavy都少的话。。total rainfall怎么会多内？

-  D could never happen either since the amount of rains in moderate rainfall  has been defined .And meanwhile,the number of days of moderate rainfall has been said fewer that those in 1910.So it is impossible that total number of inches of rain that fell on days with moderate rainfall in 1990 was more.

E: the average amount of rainfall per month was lower in 1990 than in 1910

-  E could never happen since the total rainfall for 1990 was 20 percent higher in 1990 than in 1910. And as we all know that one year contains 365 days or 366 days .So the the average amount of rainfall per month must be higher in 1990 than in 1910

只能用排除法，B、C、D、E都绝对错，只剩A，但A的lower 应该是higher才是绝对正确。注意：题目问possible，那就有一种可能，大雨的天数也少，（但大雨每次的雨量超级大！BT题！我想是题目打字时写错了！）

A 是可以理解的，不是打错字了。即使1990的所有类型下雨的天数都少于1910,只要它的某天的降雨量暴大，就可以大于1910的降雨量.

我觉得解题关键在于问题“If the statements above are true, then it is also possible that in Patton
                    City”

问的是可能会正确，不是“must be true”。A是可能正确的

因为题目中给的是总的下雨量，1990年高于1910年。moderate rainfall和slight rainfall的天数都比较过了，只剩下heavy rainfall的比较。

下雨量比较，其中包含这乘法式子：heavy rainfall每天的下雨量×天数。如果1990年heavy rainfall每天下雨量够大，则足以可以使天数降低，并且可以降低至小于1910年heavy rainfall的天数。

所以A是一个possible true的答案。

今天又一次看到这道题，忍不住说两句，其实对于这道题疑惑的问题可能会觉得小雨中雨的天数在1990年都比1991年少，选项A又是第一个需要排除的选项。所以在看题的时候很容易联想到自然大雨的天数在1990年要多。

其实只是因为忽略了一个题中的小信息，就是no rain fall。不仅有下雨的情况，还有不下雨的时候。所以是可能性
