楼主就是两年前的我,所以简单一点个人意见: 1.If you do not attempt to have an occupation in asset management or funds, plase do not consider CFA as one of your steps. However, your FE academic background is suit to those careers I men tioned. Maybe those are interesting to you. CFA is merely nothing for investment banking departments of Chinese securities companies and even a litte sense for foreign investment banks. CPA is very useful for IBDs of Chinese securities companies but not for commercial banks.
2.Our nationalize banks in mainland do not really need your FE skills but your social resources. Maybe you know that.
3.Generally, there are many functions in foreign IBs. So you should make clear what you want to do. But there is just traditional business for securities companies in Chiina currently that the listing works like IPO(a big cake before) and financial consultancies (always a small cake). It is due to the immature market with constrain of the government. If you want to have a splended career in financial area, I recommend you to join a foreign institution outside mainland.
And now the market for IBs in China is SHIIIIIIIT.
