我对这段话的逻辑理解有一些疑问

说明hypothalamus -> pituitary gland
one of which stimulates the release of hormones from the adrenal cortex
说明pituitary gland -> adrenal cortex
以下是问题：

如果按就近指代来理解，these hormones指的应该是被adrenal cortex 释放出来的hormones, 这里的逻辑简图就应该是
/ thyroid gland
adrenal cortex - ovarian follicle cells
\ ....
......................................................................................./ thyroid gland
整个逻辑图就是hypothalamus->pituitary gland-> adrenal cortex- ovarian follicle cells
.......................................................................................\ ....
这里的逻辑图和下文中植物荷尔蒙的分三级显得不太对称，虽然对于做题影响不是很大，但是我实在是很纠结
根据高中生物知识，激素的分泌层次是：
下丘脑分泌促肾上腺激素释放激素，作用于垂体；垂体分泌促肾上腺激素，作用于肾上腺。成为下丘脑-垂体-肾上腺轴
另外还有下丘脑-垂体-甲状腺轴，下丘脑-垂体-性腺轴，原理同上
这样一来，整个逻辑图就是
............................................/ adrenal cortex
hypothalamus->pituitary gland - thyroid gland
\ovarian follicle cells
和下文的植物激素的hierachy 完全对称，看上去舒服多了
但是如此一来，对这几句句子的理解就要变成

红色的hormones 指代的就要是绿色的hormones 了，中间还隔了一句分句！那句分句讲的也是hormone!!
所以无论如何从语法上都读不通啊！！
