关于新PREP题目中两道让我觉得是矛盾的题目，求牛人赐教！

The first shots of the American Revolution, fired at Lexington and Concord, Massachusetts, were, according to legend, heard around the world, but news of these shots, which were sent by swift messenger, took four days in reaching New York City as well as another additional eleven days to reach Charleston, South Carolina.
A.   shots, which were sent by swift messenger, took four days in reaching New York City as well as another additional eleven days
B.   shots that was sent by swift messenger took four days in order to reach New York City, and also another（重复） eleven days
C.   shots that were sent by swift messenger took four days to reach New York City and another eleven days（that修饰shots,但实际应该是要修饰news）
D.   shots took four days by swift messenger in order to reach New York City and another eleven days in addition
E.   shots took four days by swift messenger to reach New York City and another eleven days

这道题目C,D选项不能选的原因，笔记里面写的说, that 逻辑上应该是要修饰news的，但是语法上缺修饰了shots,所以说不好选。再看下面一道题

Marconi's conception of the radio was as a substitute for the telephone, a tool for private conversation; instead, it is precisely the opposite, a tool for communicating with a large, public audience.
A.   Marconi's conception of the radio was as a substitute for the telephone, a tool for private conversation; instead, it is
B.   Marconi conceived of the radio as a substitute for the telephone, a tool for private conversation, but which is
C.   Marconi conceived of the radio as a tool for private conversation that could substitute for the telephone; instead, it has become
D.   Marconi conceived of the radio to be a tool for private conversation, a substitute for the telephone, which has become
E.   Marconi conceived of the radio to be a substitute for the telephone, a tool for private conversation, other than what it is,

笔记上说C选项是正确的，说that 是可以跳跃for private conservation 修饰tool的。可是上面的题目也分明就是news of these shots, 但是它就是不可以跳跃shots去修饰的。
所以我觉得比较矛盾，请求牛人赐教！

同问that的指代问题，貌似上次看到是就近指代，但具体又要看逻辑意思，求nn指教

非NN。 G语法选相对最好的答案吧。DE肯定错，CONCEIVE OF STH TO BE 曼哈顿里面明确指出是错误的。 B选项 WHICH先行词没有。A很怪，RADIO在其中是以CONCEPTION OF THE RADIO的形式出现的,后面的A指代不清楚。这是我的理解，希望对你有所帮助。

非NN。 G语法选相对最好的答案吧。DE肯定错，CONCEIVE OF STH TO BE 曼哈顿里面明确指出是错误的。 B选项 WHICH先行词没有。A很怪，RADIO在其中是以CONCEPTION OF THE RADIO的形式出现的,后面的A指代不清楚。这是我的理解，希望对你有所帮助。

非NN，同意ls观点。
GMAT所有的题都是选择best的选项，而不是perfect的选项。逻辑和阅读亦是如此，尤其是逻辑，在逻辑里这个best答案体现为help思想~

一般情况下 P85
名词的修饰成分（noun modifier)和修饰的名词本身一定要遵守 Touch Rule: 就是一定要接触连在一起。

但有4种例外情况 P234
其中第一种是
名词的修饰成分（noun modifier)和修饰的名词本身中间插入的部分有“关键使命” (mission-critical) 就不遵守 Touch Rule。

E 干净简洁的选项应该可以毙掉其他各种蒙人的奇葩了

ABDE的各个错因马达sa的分析很棒我原来总爱误选A 终于明白了

C 之所以对
应该是属于所谓“missionary-critical" 的特例
Marconi conceived of the radio as a tool for private conversation that could。。。当中
for private conversation部分是tool的意思的关键所在，如果被that从中间插入tool就没什么实际意义了，这就是曼哈顿所说的missionary-critical modifier 这个时候that的位置可以不遵守Touch Rule

我理解大概是这个意思，希望表达的不是太繁琐。期待真牛指正。

5楼的nn,可我觉得news of these shots 中，of these shots 也属于名词的修饰成分呀
