Hi there
I feel your confusion so let me see how I can help. One of your concerns regards your academics. One way to resolve this is by taking new courses and scoring well in addition to increasing your GMAT score. Being able to do both of these will showcase to the adcom that you are able to handle the academic rigor of the MBA program.
The other concern you have is regarding your work experience. The question is whether you have done anything to stand out within the working environment. Have you lead new initiatives? Have you managed people? Have you done something which has really pushed your team, division, or organization forward? If not, is there something you can start doing to make a difference?
Lastly, are you involved in any extracurricular activities outside of the work place? If so, are you in a leadership role? Top business schools like Simon want to see leadership potential in their applicants and this is what can really help your profile stand out. If you haven't been overly proactive there is no better time to start doing it than now.
Try to make a difference no matter what you are doing and better programs like the ones you mentioned can be attainable!
