C. Instead of cooperating, A and B involved in one of the most famous rivalries when A challenged B’s reconstruction of xxx,

我觉得C比其他两个好或许选DE，求鉴定啊？？？

我觉得选c，我看到instead of cooperating后，认为主语应该是A and B，而不是one of the rivalries.
