看OG CR32的reasoning
有一句
thus anything that increases the odds of anglgers' doing such reporting would make it more likely that....
以前只知道odd有奇数和古怪的意思
所以查查longman
发现odds 作名词时有两个意思
1.probability： how likely it is that something will or will not happen
2.difficulties： e.g Theresa has overcome enormous odds to get where she is today
probability 跟difficulties带入原句得出的意思完全不同啊
GMAC老叫人不要用词产生歧义
这不是坑爹么

the odds of doing something means the probability of doing something.

It is not ambiguous.

but the definition from the dictionary says odds can be construed as difficulties...I know little about "odds", so this definition is quite confusing....

sdcar2010 NN, may I ask you a question?
usually, if I get what the stimulus talks about,I can elevate the possibility of solving the quiz.
if the test-maker makes the stimulus more complicated, sometimes I can grab the abstract structure of the reasoning
but it's painstaking and time-consuming
However, I really fear that if I'm taking the test while confronting with such complicated questions, I will so nervous that perhaps I cannot concentrate on the stimulus that I mess up.
so DO u have any tips to help me calm down and focus on the stimulus
or do you have any advice that make me tackle such tough question quickly and smoothly?

The abstract, logic structure of the stimulus is more important than the detailed description for most CR problems. Once you know what is the premise, what is the conclusion, and how to get from the premise to the conclusion, you should not have much difficulty to solve the problem.

Back to the word odds: the second explanation is an extension of the first. If you try to do something against the odds (chance of success), you are trying to do something very difficult.
