board members: As a longtime member of the college's board of trustees, I believe that the board has functioned well in the past because each of its members has a broad range of experience and interests. Thus, if in the future any members are elected primarily to press for a particular policy, such as reducing tuition, the board will function less well.
In drawing the conclusion above, the board member must have been making which of the following assumptions?
A the college will suffer financially if the board reduces tution
B the college will not able to operate if and when the board functions less well than it does currently
C the board functions well becaus its members are primarily interested in particular academic policies rather than in finacial policies such as the level of tuition
D in order to be elected as a member of the board, one must have a broad range of experience and interests

这题答案应该是E。思路是：
have experience and interest -> board functions well
press for a particular policy -> board functions less well
所以press for a particular policy == 对have experience and interest取非

至于为什么C不对，我也在犹豫，欢迎大牛们来讨论

reducing tuition问题只是举例说明a particular policy，仅对tuition问题进行说明是不充分的。
我觉得C不对，E对。
