C is correct.

A is wrong.  This choice is really tricky. Again, I want to hear more feedbacks before answering it.

call for the breakup of...into is unidiomatic,谁说的?

call for是demand的意思,后跟noun.

into指的是call for  into 还是breakup of into???

calll for...

break up是动词(其名词形式是breakup/break-up),意思是:seperate or divide into several small parts.

马甲,偶们正在讨论这个:it would be two local phone companies and one long-distance provider.

it 应该指代the largest company.

另外,关于C中的the world's largest...

"it can be breakup into two companys".

also we can say "it would be tow companys"

but wen can not say "it refers tow companys"
