financial aid和scholarship是一回事吗？

准备提交UTD的申请。

但是关于奖学金申请有点疑惑。

他的系统里面有一个optional essay，题目如下：

Purpose a business plan with an initial investment in capital that is equivalent to the amount of financial aid you may receive based on your current qualifications. Assess the growth and profitability of your venture 5, 10, 15 years from the present date.

The financial aid that may be awarded to you is an investment made in you by the Cohort MBA Program and the UTD School of Management. Describe how they will benefit from this investment.

这题目怎么看怎么和奖学金不太像啊，要不就是给全奖的，要不就是什么贷款的。

我如果想申merit-based的奖学金，需要写这个东东么？

P.S 发信问了学校，但是2天过去了，也不见回复。眼看1月15日的截止日就要到了，没办法，上来问问大家。

Oops, looks like it's past your deadline but hope it worked out okay. Financial aid is a more general term that may include grants (need-based) or scholarships (merit-based) and loans.
