1. Pat, Kate, Mark charge a total of 162 hours to a certain project. If Pat charged twice as much time to the project as Kate and 1/3 as much time as Mark. how many more hous did Mark charge to the project than Kate? ANS: 90

2.over a certain time period, did the number of shares of stock in R's portfolio increase?

(1) the ratio of the number of shares of stock to the total number of shares of stocks and bonds in R's portfolio increased.

(2) the total number of shares of stocks and bonds in R's portfolio increased.

ANS: c

3. A certain candy manufacturer reduced the weight of candy Bar by 20 percent but left the price unchanged. what was the resulting percent increase in the price per ounce of candy Bar manufacturer.

ANS: 25%

1 and 3 are simple algebra problems.

2 is about fractions and total number.
