Career Opportunity - Strategic Planning Manager at a foreign bank in Shanghai

A leading Asia's regional bank is looking for an AVP level strategic planning manager to join its China business.

Reporting directly to China CEO, and to be based in Shanghai, the position requires 8+ years of business experience, including at least 3 years relevant experience in foreign banks in China and/or, strategic consulting experience with substantial involvement in banking related projects with a leading management consulting firm. The candidates should be native in Mandarin speaker with excellent written and verbal communications skills in both English and Chinese. An MBA from a reputable international business school will be a plus.

Responsibilities:

1)      Coordinate efforts among project teams to ensure efficient execution of China strategic initiatives and provide regular project status updates to the CEO and Group Management;

2)      Facilitate China Core Management Meeting, track follow-ups and provide status reports for management review;

3)      Drive periodic China perforance reviews based on internal financial and business information and external market intelligence as collated, and present for regular management review;

4)      Institutionalize China Operating Plan by building financial model templates, collating assumptions, data/business information, conducting analysis and consolidating for management review;

5)      Complete ad-hoc tasks assigned by the CEO for internal and external purposes

Qualifications:

1)      8+ years of business experience, including at least 3 years relevant experience in foreign banks in China and/or, strategic consulting experience with substantial involvement in banking related projects with a leading management consulting firm;

2)      Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with ability to synthesize analysis and extract implications in real-time;

3)      Well proficient in bank’s financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, etc) and eloquently conversant in banking terminologies;

4)      Highly motivated and organized with ability to prioritize under pressure and willingness to take initiatives;

5)      Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work effectively at all levels of an organization;

6)      Bachelor’s degree, with full-time MBA degree from a reputable international business school;

7)      Native in Mandarin; excellent written and verbal communications skills in both English and Chinese
