Recent ewtimated predict that between 1982 and 1995 the greatest increase in the number of people employed will be in the category of low-paying service occupation.
This category, however, will not increase its share of total employment, whereas the category of high-paying service occupation will increase its share.
If the estimates above are accurate, which of the following conclusion can be drawn?
A) In the 1982 more people were working in low paying service occupation than were working in high paying service occupation.

尝试的解释一下，请大家指点：是绝对增长和相对增长的关系
   低收入人群人口基数大，即使增长的绝对数量很大，但是相对于一个增长的总体，其增加的百分比可以很小，甚至不变
   高收入人群人口基数小，即使增长的绝对数量不大，但是相对于一个增长的总体，其增长的百分率可以很大
   例如：低收入人口原有100个，增长10个，总数110，
            高收入人口原有5个，增长5个，总数10个
            总就业人口原有500个，现有550个
            这样，低收入人口的share是不变的，高收入人口的share是增加了

嗯，楼上的解释的真详细
不过这其实就是一个简单的基数问题，举个例子就应该可以看的很清楚的
例如ceo就算是翻10倍也不如农民老打嗝增长一个百分点啊，呵呵
还是咱们农民有力量

那是说除了Low paying and high paying 外还有其他子集？我当时的疑惑在于这两者就已经组成employment的全集？

其实这句话就说得很清楚了，不管有几个子集，the category of low-paying service occupation.都是数量增加最多的。

我的意思是我理解没有除high pay and low pay 以外的分类了，但大家的意见是还有，否则不回举出500和550。

确认一下，这个和有没有其他子集关系不大
你可以用其他的子集的方法来解释
当就算没有其他子集这题你好好举个例子也是可以解释的
高收入的占1percent，低收入占99percent，按增加的人数看也是可以找出符合原文意思的例子
