以下是引用ibanking在2008-6-6 14:36:00的发言:You should not think in this way. Many Chinese students studying in US have similar thoughts compare to yours. They never ask questions in the classroom if they see nobody is asking questions and they are normally too shy to socialize with other people. If you just follow other people, your success in US is likely very limited. Americans appreciate people who have their unique ideas and who can demonstrate their strength and talents. Do you know why many Chinese students in US think it is hard to get a job? Commmunication skill is one of the problems, the other major problem is that they have been educated the idea "it is a bad idea to show off" for their entire life. In conclusion, if you have a good figure, please go ahead and wear a bikini to school; or if you believe a skirt is the best way to showcase your beauty, by all mean wear it. Thank you for your wise suggestion.Concerning activity and innovation in class, I cannot agree with you more. But dressing ordinary doesn't mean that one isn't aggressive in study. In most cases, respect from others results from excellent performance and good personality not from appearance or clothes.Actually, I have made-up and dressed colorful during college life, making myself attractive.Sometimes I feel so strong that it's hard to balance study and beauty.Well, I haven't decided whether I should change my style in America. Sorry,I've talked so much...Anyway,thank you for your help. |
