I'll invest my faster future money in 2 fields where return is much slower: K12 education and genetics research... That's my motivation to go through this stupid pain!
In my humble opinion, the best way for some people to help others isn't to donate money or hard labor. It could be brain, knowledge, skills, or leadership. I admire an approach of Lou Gestner (the former CEO of IBM): using his organization's management talent, which had much more impact than money did. Some fields, such as K12 education and genetics research, need resources that are more than individuals can afford. Yet, governments and businesses don't invest in them as much because the results are too slow--may take longer than a decision-maker's lifetime. For people with good hearts and talent, perhaps, think big and think strategic... while doing a bit daily on the way.
To get bigger resources, first thing first... GMAT!!!
